Cost and contracts

The assessment is free. Projects are quoted in writing at a fixed price before work starts, and ongoing support is a monthly plan. Prices are in Canadian dollars, with GST and PST shown where they apply. See how billing works.

No. A project needs only your written approval of the quote. Ongoing support runs under a written service agreement that states what is included and our response times.

No. We take no margins, commissions or referral fees on any product or hardware. We recommend what fits your business, which is often what you already have, and you pay only for our work.

Support

Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm Pacific, with 24/7 emergency support. Planned work can be scheduled for evenings and weekends.

We reply within one business day. Urgent issues go to the front of the queue, and emergencies have a 24/7 line. Ongoing support clients have response times written into their agreement.

A small team of technicians we work with covers remote support, so requests are still answered when our founder is away. You contact us the same way as always, and they work from the documentation we keep for your systems.

Not necessarily. We can work as backup and escalation for an in-house person, take on a single project, or look after everything.

Your business holds the admin accounts and licences for everything we set up, and we document it all, from network diagrams to the backup schedule, so another provider can take over from our handover documents.

Security and data

We put the technical safeguards in place, such as access controls, multi-factor sign-in, encryption and backups, and help you document them. For legal interpretation, we work alongside your lawyer or privacy advisor. Our guide to PIPA vs PIPEDA explains the basics.

Yes. We help you answer questions about multi-factor sign-in, backups, endpoint protection and email security accurately, and close the gaps an insurer is likely to ask about.

Platforms and services

Yes, we support both. We usually start by turning on the security features your current subscription already includes. See Cloud and Workspace.

Windows and Mac computers, iPhone and Android phones and tablets, printers and network equipment, and Linux servers.
